Obsessed with all things Vitamin C - Well, not all... Just this one!
I once read that Vitamin C was important in the process of producing collagen. I was like a fairy on Red Bull, trying to find the best Vitamin C source and pump as much of it into my system as possible.
As most of us know, unfortunately we pee out most of the vitamins that we ingest. There was a long period where I was peeing fluro green and just hoped I was absorbing something. Aside from fluro pee, I didn’t notice much difference in how I felt or in my skin.
I learned about vitamin IV drips which allows your body to better absorb vitamins and minerals. Every couple of weeks I would get an IV drip with vitamin c and antioxidants and I DID notice a difference in my skin! However, I was also racking up a huge bill and ultimately it seemed unsustainable leading me back to the drawing board.
Then one day I started noticing a few of my male friends had these boxes in their kitchens. Much to my surprise these boxes read “ Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C!” I was like “TALK TO ME. “
It turns out one of the boys nutritionists’ recommended it and he got the word out to the rest of them.
Long story short: I tried it.
In all honesty, they taste a little gross but somehow the bad taste makes me feel like they are actually doing something. Minerals and vitamins on their own can taste kind of bitter. We all know the orange candy flavored vitamins aren’t helping us much as they are often loaded with sugar and artificial flavoring and fillers. I read more about liposomes and i was like BINGO!
WHAT DO LIPOSOMES DO?
Because of their composition, liposomes can pass through the intestinal wall and into the bloodstream for distribution to the cells. From there, they can assimilate into the cells and through the cell membrane to release the nutrients.
WHY DO LIPOSOMES HELP NUTRIENT ABSORPTION?
Absorption from the digestive system varies by nutrient. Vitamin C, for example, is absorbed almost exclusively in the small intestine and requires sodium-dependent vitamin C co-transporter (SVCTs) proteins. Without these proteins, Vitamin C isn’t absorbed.
Liposomal nutrients achieve maximum absorption in the bloodstream and cells by bypassing absorption barriers without relying on transport systems.

This makes perfect sense! I don’t pee a fluorescent color when I take this and the most exciting news is that I notice a HUGE difference in my skin.
I swear I look younger over night!
I have to admit that sometimes I double drop them. I don’t do anything half assed. God only knows (and a few other people) I’ve done worse. I don’t do anything everyday. I might take these about 3 times a week and it feels like the perfect amount for me. I don’t want my body to get dependent on the Vitamin C and stop naturally producing collagen on its own so I like to take doses that are spread out giving my body a break.
